Education: Innovative School at Chasara, Kutch, Gujarat

 

Visited this innovative school, at a remote village Chasara located in Kutch, Gujarat.

It has a total of 63 students.

Manjulaben teacher has developed a beautiful kitchen garden and medicinal plants concept which is planted by the students, also they daily water the plants.

And when these plants bear fruits and vegetables, all the students would gather up, pluck, wash and relish the tasty vegetables.

Eg. Moringa, Drumstick. They would boil it, sprinkle it with salt and red chilli powder and offer it to students.

In the last 7-8 years Dr Chhotalal Shah, Eye Surgeon has been visiting many schools and colleges to create health awareness, to facilitate value education amongst teachers, Students and since last 3-4 years also has been distributing various plants ☘️ as part of Tree Plantation drive with support of Vikram Bhai Shah.

So last year, medicinal plants were distributed.

And more than 60+ Schools and colleges were benefited by this.

This improved the overall health of students, reduced absentee rate, improved morale and connection with nature.

All the students were so calm, quiet, inquisitive.. they gathered up around us and were keenly listening.

Such values are truly reflected with the hard work of teachers and willingness of parents to send their children to the school and the innocent and open mindset of children.

Upon returning we were gifted with fresh sweet  dozen plus drumsticks plucked by the students.

This is truly a memorable gift..

We relished the taste.

Beyond everything what mattered was we are instrumental to see such children and dedicated teachers and philanthropists.

Our society truly needs this.
